When making a photomainpulation, artists are required to take unlike subjects and make them into a new, believable picture of their own design. This artist has clearly done a great job with this, seamlessly connecting the real world with the fantasy one. Here we see an Ursula-like woman coming out of the sea and away from a possible disaster - a wonderful idea that leaves us with plenty of room for interpretation, while still telling us a story. This picture evokes a sense of calm with the soft lighting and placement of the women, while also giving us a sense of underlying chaos and fear, as displayed by the circling birds, dark colors, and uneven waters. This is a great photomanipulation with an excellent choice of pieces.
